Smart Mail Checker is an e-mail tool for Windows computers. The application can tap into your e-mail accounts and let you know when new mails are received. Unlike the official notifiers from Google and the notifier in Windows Live Messenger, Smart Mail Checker accepts user-defined rules to decide when to bother the user.
The first thing to be done here is to add e-mail accounts. Smart Mail Checker is not really smart enough to auto-detect server information when you add popular e-mail accounts like Gmail, Hotmail, AOL, etc. Instead, you have to do a little research and find the POP3 servers for each one of them. Once you tackle that little research, you can start adding rules (wildcards) to your accounts. For example, you can have Smart Mail Checker notify you about incoming e-mails from a specific sender or about e-mail messages that contain a certain word in the subject. You can even select the AND operator and carry out both rules at the same time. There is no limit on the number of rules that you can add. You also get to choose a .wav sound for the application to play when a certain rule is met. |
